IFYLITA is an exquisite BL, from filming techniques to narrative framework (much like Until We Meet Again). It's about a gay man from our time who falls into the past, becomes a servant to a noble house, and falls in love with the heir. It turns out this has all happened several times before. Steeped in history and family drama it edges into lakorn (but not as much as To Sir With Love and with way less scenery chewing). This is an elegant and classy soulmates BL... from Thailand which normally doesn't even try for classy. The main couple (both as a pair and as individuals) were excellent, particularly Bright (Yai) whose eye-work acting style is a personal favorite of mine. Pity about the ending. Oh it wasn’t that sad but it wasn’t good either. This show could easily have earned a 10/10 from me except that it fumbled the… erm… balls in the final quarter. Argh. Whatever.

Nobleman Ryu's Wedding

A boy cross-dresses to take his runaway sister's place as a bride to a shy scholar, turns out they like being married. A historical setting allowed this BL to use some seriously old fashioned romance tropes (arranged marriage, evil step-sisters, Cinderfella) but also modern BL stylings like fake relationship & secret identity (drag) plus some cute gay panic. It reminded me of 12th Night more than anything else which just happens to be my favorite Shakespeare play. For all these reasons, I adored it.

I don’t rec Chinese stuff often, because I believe in censoring the censors, but this show is one of my favorites of the post 2016 censored bromances. It’s two murder-gay assassins (pining sunshine/tsundere), and they are so insanely gay for two boys who will never be allowed to kiss. Tropes include: wuxia, soulmates, paranormal, historical, and fantasy elements.

This is a true lakorn (basically Thai tellenovella or soap opera) with scenery chewing performances, especially from the mother characters. Gone With the Wind + Days of Our Lives but gay. That said? I loved it: A glorious central brother relationship (the best, made me cry), het romances, class divide + gay *gasp* main romance - oh my word, the campy drama of it all! Arranged marriage, rebellion, cut sleeves, over-the-top death with curses and regrets, beautiful if inaccurate costumes, secrets unraveling, cover ups, sparkle murder, sex herbs, coils within coils including snakes and murderous green metallic sequins (is anything gayer on this earth?). It’s a WILD ride but it does end happy for our gay boys. A man cries when he finds DEATH GLITTER. Come on! You haffa watch it. That said, like Manner of Death I struggle to rate something on a BL scale when it patently isn’t a BL. So I ended up giving this exactly what I gave that show, 7/10 I enjoyed it a whole lot, but not as a BL.

I was nervous to watch this PondPhuwin vehicle but I liked it a lot! Doomed soulmates + paranormal time travel to fix the past. I’m happy for the outfits and the dancing (if not the singing). It’s not a bad premise and it’s nice to see GMMTV lean into its high production values for a change. I'd adore a full historical starring these two and this was definitely the best of the second series of Our Skyy. I don't think you have to have watched the original Never Let Me Go to enjoy this.

Whipping boy trope... literally, servant character takes the strap for the prince, who then makes him his bodyguard and lover when he becomes king. Low budget historical, comes off as kind of cosplay wuxia version of Irresistible Love, but we get (in the credits) an actual kiss, and they both live. So yay for small mercies.

A new employee at a film company encounters a director who claims to have lived 300 years and insists that they have to date (eat, hug & kiss) if baby doesn't want to die. It has a lot of Japanese elements, not the least of which are: an office setting, the fact that every character in this show is unhinged, and a killing of the gays. Featuring a gorgeous & stellar cast, TDWBMD should have utilized them less for melodrama and more for chemistry. This BL surprised me by going there with a lipstick mark AND an actually gay idol. But (you knew there was a but) while it's a unique twist on an office romance it is NOT a unique twist on the doomed red thread trope, resulting in it feeling less than the sum of its parts and ultimately unsatisfying. This might have also had to do with the fact that this was one of those KBLs where I felt how very short it was the whole time I was watching, like I was missing something constantly, in every episode. Worth watching for some but seriously flawed.

First Love Again

2022 Korea (historical flash backs) - Viki

A popular novelist who remembers his past lives meets his soulmate for the third time, only to find she has been reincarnated into the body of a man. This one started out a touch mean-spirited, but we eventually got a good kiss. The confession/rejection scene was justified and the reconciliation and ending was... fine. All in all, the pacing felt rushed and the romantic arc was underdeveloped. They go from like to love to boyfriends in a red hot minute. But that’s par for the course with Korea’s short form. If you don’t mind a heavy does of melodrama in your BL this one has a solid story with a strong concept that’s well acted and produced, making it a classic KBL with better than average chemistry but ultimately a touch forgettable.

This show was all over the place with uneven acting, narrative, and focus (sometimes it wanted to be a slapstick comedy, sometimes a depressing melodrama) which meant no one, actors or viewers, took anyone or anything seriously.... AND it’s a bromance. I was left wondering if SalHyung is now code for “they were roommates” in Kdrama historicals but otherwise largely apathetic and unimpressed. Korea, I now know you can do better. Do better.

Lando woke up in Cannes to the soft lull of waves crashing against the shore, but the soreness in his muscles from the Hungarian Grand Prix reminded him of the intense weekend he’d just endured. He groaned, running a hand through his messy hair, and rolled over to check his phone. A text from Max Fewtrell blinked on his screen.

Max Fewtrell: Beach day, mate. No excuses. Let’s go. We’re meeting Pietra at the club.

He stared at the message for a moment before groaning again and typing back.

Lando Norris: Fine. But I’m not getting drunk.

By midday, the trio had staked their claim on a prime spot at a beach club, with white sand under their feet and a waiter never too far away. Max and Pietra were already sipping on cocktails, laughing about some inside joke, while Lando leaned back in his lounger, sunglasses on, trying to relax.

—You look like you’re in a mood,— Max teased, nudging him with his foot.

—I’m fine,— Lando muttered, taking a sip of the beer Max had practically forced into his hand.

—Sure, you are,— Pietra chimed in, smirking. —Loosen up, Lando. You’re in Cannes, not a press conference.—

After a couple of rounds, Lando started to unwind. The alcohol was working its magic, and soon enough, he was laughing along with Max and Pietra, his earlier tension melting away. The sun dipped lower in the sky, painting everything in hues of gold and pink.

As the hours passed, Lando found himself at the bar, another drink in hand. He wasn’t smashed—yet—but the buzz was strong enough to blur the edges of his usual self-control. A group of girls nearby noticed him, giggling and whispering among themselves before one mustered up the courage to approach.

—Hi,— she said, twirling a strand of her hair. —You’re Lando Norris, right?—

—Uh, yeah,— he replied, offering a polite smile but immediately feeling the shift in the air.

—I just wanted to say, I’m such a big fan. Can I get you a drink?—

Lando hesitated, glancing back at Max and Pietra, who were watching the interaction with amused expressions. —Appreciate it, but I’m good,— he said firmly, raising his glass.

—Oh, come on,— she purred, stepping closer. —Just one drink? You deserve to celebrate.—

—Yeah, I’m... I’m all good, thanks,— he said, taking a step back. —Have a good night, though.—

He walked back to Max and Pietra, shaking his head. —Why does this always happen?—

—Because you’re famous and hot,— Pietra said matter-of-factly, earning a laugh from Max.

—Still taken,— Lando muttered, finishing his drink and standing up. —Think I’m done for the night.—

Max and Pietra exchanged glances, knowing exactly where this was headed.

Back in his room, the buzz had turned into a full-blown drunken haze. Lando flopped onto the bed, fumbling for his phone. His thoughts, clouded by alcohol, zeroed in on one person: Amelie. He wanted to hear her voice, to tell her how much he missed her.

He unlocked his phone and dialed her number, his finger slipping on the screen a couple of times before he managed to hit “call.”

Amelie was sitting in her trailer, scrolling through her script when her phone lit up. Seeing Lando’s name, she smiled but immediately guessed what was happening. She answered on the second ring.

—Lando?—

—Ames!— he said, his voice louder than usual. —Miss you, babe. Like... so much.—

She bit back a laugh, already amused. —You sound drunk. Are you drunk?—

—No,— he said, dragging out the word. —Okay, maybe. But like, just a little. Barely. I swear.—

—Mmhmm,— she said, grinning. —How was the beach club?—

There was a pause, and then his tone shifted, lower, softer. —You have no idea how much I want you right now.—

Amelie’s eyebrows shot up, but she couldn’t help laughing. —Oh, do you now?—

—Yes,— he said, unabashed. —Like... you don’t even understand, Ames. You’re so fucking beautiful. Like, the most beautiful person ever. And I’m not just saying that because I’m drunk. I’d say it sober, too. Probably better sober. But like, it’s true.—

She bit her lip, trying to keep her composure. —Lando, you’re really laying it on thick tonight, huh?—

—Because it’s true!— he said, almost whining. —And I want to... ugh, I can’t even say it. You’re too far away, and it’s torture. I’m tortured, Ames.—

—You’re dramatic,— she said, laughing softly. —But also very cute. Go to sleep, Lando. You need it.—

Listen. I had fun the last time, so i'm gonna leave here another list of my Riordanverse unpopular opinions/hot takes. I hope no one is gonna cancel me:

- Throwing every single female character in the hunters is lazy writing and kinda OOC for Reyna;

- The Cupid scene is disgusting and the fact that it was made by a queer god makes it even worse;

- Jason and Nico's friendship >>> Percy and Jason's friendship. Nico and Jason were more foils than the latter and Percy will ever be;

- Leo and Nico should have been friends, and the fact that Leo was so scarred of him in HoO is wasted potential;

- Today Percy is basically the not-so-unconfirmed most powerful demigod BUT both Nico and Hazel have the potential to being more powerful than him. However, since Percy is based on Rick's own son he refuses to elaborate on it;

- Actually GROVER is Percy's best friend, not Jason, and in HoO Annabeth and Piper had a more "kinda homoerotic bromance" going on than their boyfriends ever had;

- Aside from that, Jason is clearly alive. Trow that ToA scene away;

- Nico killing Bryce Lawrence is both the most terrifying and the best scene in both PJo and HoO;

- It would have been better if Hazel and Frank were friends-crushingoneachother during HoO and started dating in ToA;

- Riordan's amatonormativity wasted the potential of many characters (like Nico and Leo) and the potential of many friendships;

- Caleo is acceptable in HoO but in ToA it fucking sucks;

- Actually it would have been interesting if Calypso discovered herself as a lesbian during ToA OR in a possible Leo's standalone novel;

- In terms of capabilities, storylines and roles in the plot Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Hazel and Reyna are Riordan's most badass characters. Others (mostly Thalia, Jason and Piper) have the potential but are underdeveloped;

- And that in my opinion is HoO biggest problem: the series has many new interesting characters (Hazel, Leo, Reyna, Jason) but they are underdeveloped in favor of 1) romance and 2) Percabeth being in the major spotlight;

- I have mixed feeling about Percy and Annabeth being part of the Seven;

- Fierrochase >>>>> Solangelo;

- Tsats is utter dogshit and it is REALLY hard to consider it canon;

- Canon Solangelo is ableist and the fact that a big part of the fandom has no problem with it is kinda disturbing. Also some fanon solangelo contents are ableist as well and it is partly RR's fault;

- The fandom basically wrote and characterized Will Solace's character. Neither Riordan or Mark Oshiro give a fuck about him, and problably that's NOT gonna improve in the Tsats sequel;

- Accusing people who don't like solangelo and/or Tsats of homophobia is like the dumbest take ever;

- RR's representation characters are a concentration of stereotypes;

- It would have been better if Piper had her self-discovering - queer storyline from the beginning of HoO. It would have made her more interesting and relatable;

- Even more, it would have been more interesting if Piper had her queer-reveal storyline in HoO THANKS to her not-so-straight chemistry with Annabeth;

- Making Nico a overly morally correct/morally "pure" character makes him less interesting;

- CJ >>> CHB;

- Nico should be a rough demigod;

- It is heavily implied that the majority of CHB STILL doesn't like Nico and they only "tolerate" him because they like Will;

- Bisexual Jason is better and makes more sense than bisexual Percy. Jason's arc is basically a metaphor of bisexuality;

- It makes me sad how RR basically throw away every other Nico's beautiful relationships (with Jason, Reyna, Hazel, even Percy..) in favor of solangelo. Nico WAS a complex and developed character, now he's kinda just "the gay one";

- With his latest works RR is ruining his own franchise;

- PJo>>>>>>MG>>>ToA>>HoO;

Lando's eyes always sparkle when he looks at Oscar and it captures my heart every time. You can see that Lando likes Oscar very much and his eyes don't even hide it. God, their relationship is so intimate that sometimes it's hard to watch without feeling like a third wheel. Oscar, I don't know how you did it, but as a Lando fan, I'm grateful that I get to see this version of Lando every time he's around you.

straight up anon, the shift in Lando when he got a teammate who exists on the same natural wavelength as him has been a thing to behold ??

like, Lando is someone who goes through life looking for romance and he so easily gets a crush on anyone who populates his world with something special or beautiful. that's what has made Oscar such a unique relationship for Lando because Oscar doesn't consider himself or his life at all in the world of romance or fantasy. he considers himself extremely practical, "low frequency" and enjoying the simple things in life. he's not at all a typical heroic figure like Carlos or a big camera-ready personality like Daniel. Lando's interest in Oscar has been a slow but steady curiosity that has grown even without Oscar initiating a joint hobby or going on outings together or playing up a bromance for fans. Lando was definitely a little unmoored by the lack of all of that for a while!

the only two aberrations in Oscar's calm and cool are his pursuit of F1 and his fascination with Lando, which we know to have been intertwined as early as him moving to the UK at 14. there is serious romance in the way they ended up as teammates and major drama of Oscar's determination to get that seat.

but! then there's Lando saying how he sees them as similar to each other back in July 2023! bc Lando had always used self-mockery to interrupt his moments of earnestness and in a lot of ways was always striving to be Just A Guy to fit in with the guys in his life. his creativity would pop out very occasionally but mostly he became known for being naturally funny and able to click with just about anyone by matching their energy and adapting to their humor. he even took great pride in The Lando Effect - which ironically was more about Lando changing to suit Carlos and Daniel, who he has almost separate versions of himself with. he was the baby brother as always, wanting to hang out with his older brothers and wanting to fit in.

and then he gets Oscar as a teammate who seems content to just stay back and watch Lando and observe Lando and learn everything about Lando he doesn't already know. who seems to have no limit when it comes to handling the full range of Lando's personality and never tells - or even jokes - that Lando should change a single thing, even when it directly impacts Oscar. Lando doesn't have to match Oscar's energy and it turns out! they both like it best when Lando doesn't try!

which is when we started seeing lando.jpg reemerge and 7 podiums and a new hunger for even more and higher expectations of himself and a calmer, more authentic - less cartoonish - Lando on camera in challenges and social media. he even said how Oscar taught him by example the importance of "keeping calm and being yourself". of course silly, fun Lando is still there! he's still little brother to Carlos and Daniel and George and Alex! but those are now some of the many facets we've gotten to see in the past 14 months!

the winter break was a revelation because Lando spoke to fans solely through his camera lens and the reflections of the beautiful world he saw as he traveled. no goofing, no pretense, no corporate. his chosen pose for all his photos was partly in fun, partly symbolic of his confidence that he didn't need to sell these photos as selfies for them to blow up all over social media.

and all the while Oscar was quietly on his own down time and training, liking Lando's posts and saying "you went everywhere!" and listening to Lando recount it all.

then Lando came back to work this year and everything about him wore a new sheen of beauty and romance to it, including him having grown more beautiful. he's used his beauty more consciously when modeling and even LN4 and Quadrant took on a more stylized look. his new McLaren contract announcement was an entire aesthetic complete with a short film.

like, obv this whole post is me going off on a whole stupid thing but just. Lando was always meant to live his life in a unique way and he was always meant to see things through romance and art and music. he wasn't supposed to apologize for enjoying racing as a means of attaining perfection one day. and there's Oscar who reflects back to Lando all the quirks and things that make Lando unique that he's memorized over the years, listening to Lando's music in place of the usual silence in his own driver's room, helping Lando navigate unknown food and new lengthy words and knowing when Lando is comfortable to take the lead in public speaking and when Lando needs Oscar to step in and handle it. pushing Lando all the time as a teammate and the whole friction creates the pearl analogy.

idk it's just not as huge a leap as I thought last year to say that Oscar's comfortable, placid life has long had a splash of color in it at last in some part because of Lando and that Lando has become the most authentic and brilliant version of himself at least in some part because Oscar is there to always appreciate it.

like this little moment of Lando giving Oscar a nickname and Oscar finding it the best thing he's ever heard and Lando's half-stunned and delighted smile at being able to do that to Oscar is just all of that distilled:

Oscar's confidence has returned and he's smoothing over the awkward PR duties while Lando is relaxed and confident and the little quips like this just come so naturally. (the way Lando actually wriggles in his chair with delight over Oscar's reaction !!) like, Lando doesn't have to try ! he doesn't have to try to be anyone but himself ! there's someone here at work with him all day and every day who is delighted by him no matter what !

and what's even better is apparently! now that they both understand and exist on that wavelength together, they've returned from winter break circling around each other and looking for each other more than they ever have <3

Ship: UzuRen [Uzui Tengen x Rengoku Kyojuro]

Part 1: Friends to Lovers

This is my ultimate OTP, I live and die for this ship, I love both characters to death. They both live rent free in my head and I will never regret to be on this shipwreck.

In my honest opinion there is no one else better for my little sunshine than the flamboyant god of festivals and let me tell you why:

We all know how they first meet at the Hashira summit when Kyojuro is summoned by Oyakata.

I firmly believe that Tengen fell in love at first sight with Kyojuro, right there in Oyakata’s Zen Garden. At first I think he was star-struck by Kyojuro’s looks and aura, but we lost him when the flame boy confronted Sanemi with not an ounce of fear.

Tengen definitely tried to act to look cool around him, unconsciously flirting with Kyojuro, showing off his muscles and flashy breathing technique, and Kyojuro was genuinely fascinated by this, fueling Tengen’s ego even more.

“Amazing!” “As expected from the Sound Pillar!” “I have never seeing a breathing technique as beautiful as yours!”, Tengen’s chest will fill with pride every time Kyojuro praised him.

Tengen LOVES to be praised, specially by his handsome colleague. He would constantly find himself going over the edge when Kyojuro was around.

The rest of the Pillars hated when this happened, Tengen would be even more insufferable around them, cocky and presumptuous, but Kyojuro never found this annoying at all.

Kyojuro always felt admiration and respect for Tengen as he considered him his valuable superior and never realized that his “comments” about Tengen were easily interpreted as flirting.

All the Pillars knew that Tengen was down bad for Kyojuro even before Tengen realized this himself.

Tengen did not realized his feelings only after he and Kyojuro became closer acquaintances, and I like to believe that it happened when they had their first mission together.

After that, Tengen started to be really TOUCHY with Kyojuro. At first, these were subtle, accidental touches, but as Kyojuro did not seem to care, the nature of these touches intensified as to Tengen trying to pin Kyojuro against the wall, grabbing Kyojuro’s hands, breathing into the back of his neck, hugging him from behind, you name it; complete and entire invasion of the flame pillar personal space.

Tengen ADORES Kyojuro’s hair, so somehow his hands always found a way into Kyojuro’s flaming strands. Softer than what it looked like.

It was after his first mission together than Kyojuro found out about Tengen having 3 wives. He did not approved at all, as for him, a man should be completely devoted to only one persona for the rest of their life, just like his parents were.

Kyojuro tried to fool himself with the argument that Tengen already had 3 wives, so it was very unlikely that his friend had feelings for him.

It gets harder for Tengen to conceal what he really feels, he wants to get more intimate with Kyojuro and I think he is completely fine with the fact that he has fallen for a man.

Tengen confesses first because he really can’t stand to be in the “bromance zone” anymore.

Kyojuro is a bit shocked but not completely surprised at all, he is not as dense as a lot of people thinks. And also, Kyojuro is unbothered by the fact that Tengen is a man.

Kyojuro has a hard time to accept Tengen’s feeling, because in his mind, he will be committing adultery and that is something he will never approve of.

But against of all odds and his own morale, I think Kyojuro would officially start his romance with Tengen and OH BOY, ARE THEY PHYSICAL.

If Tengen was touchy before, after his confession, he is all hands over HIS MAN.

Tengen its jealous AS HELL.

He was a bit jealous when they were friends but now it’s a lot worse.

He hates when women they rescue try to get too intimate with Kyojuro, this never turns into a fight thanks to Kyojuro’s character and personality but Kyojuro is very firm to not let this to get in the way of their duty.

I also think that Tengen gets more openly jealous from some of the other Pillars and I will elaborate from whom on another post :P.

On the other hand, Kyojuro’s jealousy is shown more as bitterness for Tengen’s wives. He believes that the ladies are able to give Tengen what he will never be capable of [kids]. But he is not resentful at the girls at all, all the opposite, Kyojuro contradicts himself all the time by telling Tengen that he should be more respectful of his ladies.

As opposed to Tengen, Kyojuro never voices these insecurities to Tengen because he does not feel he has the right to do so :(

Kids are really important to Kyojuro, one of his main goals in life is to be extend the Rengoku legacy, Tengen takes a lot of importance to this as he wants to make Kyojuro happy and motivates Tengen to make important decisions. I will explain this in another post.

Tengen teaches Kyojuro the arts of love, Tengen is gentle and chivalrous, caring and compassionate, I will explain in more detail the love language of each.

Kyojuro is extremely romantic when they are alone, I think that as Kyojuro is super passionate, Tengen gets the best out of him in this aspect as Kyojuro have never loved someone before.

Tengen is Kyojuro’s first love <3.

Tengen makes Kyojuro flush in public but Kyojuro takes Tengen’s breath away in private.

Tengen IS CRAZY about this, he loves when Kyojuro gets intimate and touchy with him. Tengen wants Kyojuro to need and want him as much as he does.

I believe Kyojuro’s is the first to say: I love you.

Tengen is very vocal about needing Kyojuro, Tengen is a demanding lover, he wants all the attention and pampering that Kyojuro has to offer and at the worst time possible lol.

In the middle of a fight? Maybe. In front of other Pillars? Absolutely. In front of Shinjuro? DON’T even dare not to kiss him back.

It takes Kyojuro a bit more time to feel like he is entitled of receiving love and attention from Tengen, because he feels like a home-wrecker mistress lol. So he rarely demands any attention from Tengen.

Tengen confuses this as Kyojuro not loving him enough, or not being sure about them two being together.

Kyojuro’s guilt drives him a bit away from Tengen, again, not feeling like he is entitled to anything and it takes him a bit of time to settle this down.

Tengen certainly panics whenever Kyojuro acts distant or seems to want space in between them, this mainly due to Tengen’s insecurities and feeling like he is not good enough.

They eventually work this stuff out, and have a very healthy, sexy and loving relationship. I will elaborate this in another post.

I will also elaborate my thoughts about the Rengoku family reaction to Kyojuro’s and Tengen’s relationship.

Ykw I’m feeling inspired it’s time for a yap session. Who wants to hear my opinions on akitoya? :)

You know… people seriously underutilize how much Toya rags on Akito. The fandom never acknowledges it because Akito is the mean one and Toya is the nice one but in all the stories and interactions they’ve ever had (bc I’ve read all of them) Akito has not said anything even slightly rude to Toya, and Toya is consistently like—

Which is much more peak dynamic if you ask me.

I like to imagine the first time he made a comment like that and Akito stared at him for several seconds like (I didn’t know he was capable of jokes…) and Toya was like (oh shit I messed up he’s gonna get mad at me maybe I should apologize..) and then Akito just laughs about it and that is the beginning of the bromance

Both of them put on a certain amount of facade when interacting with most people, like most people do. For Akito, that’s his ‘tough guy’ standoffish and combative persona, and for Toya it’s his stiff, formal politeness. So naturally, it would follow that with the person they feel most comfortable around, this vanishes. During the first wedding event, when Akito met Rui he immediately put up a front and decided to dislike him. But the second Toya asked him, he caved and agreed to help. If you looked in his brain while he’s talking to toya at any one moment it would just be like

Akito’s vulnerability is letting himself be sweet and sentimental. It’s the genuine smile he only wears when he’s looking at toya or at his sister. It’s ruffling his hair after doing well in an event and complimenting him the way he only does for his teammates. And for Toya, it’s being able to joke around and mess with his best friend without worrying about getting in trouble. Their affection for each other is mimicking the parts of the other’s personality that they find most endearing and I think that’s beautiful

Another example of this fandom attitude that I’ve noticed is stuff like this meme: (no hate to the creator obv.)

Let’s be fr… we know what Akito is like, right? This is the guy who beat a band that bullied him in middle school in a singing battle and then immediately berated himself for daring to be even a little bit proud about it. This is the guy who heard that he wasn’t the most committed to soccer in the entire world and decided to quit. Do you think his thought process would be so simple as to just be happy after kissing the love of his life? AbsoLUTELY not. This guy is running out of the room IMMEDIATELY to go white-knuckle the bathroom sink. He is going to stare at his reflection breathing heavily and trying to wipe the blush off his face before falling heavily against the door behind him and sinking slowly to the tile to bury his face in his knees. Akito is the least mentally stable man I’ve ever met. Toya, on the other hand. With how much he admires Akito, and with how much he wears his heart on his sleeve without even realizing what he’s feeling himself, the only thoughts I can imagine going through his mind are ‘:D’ Toya would not hide any of his emotions from Akito for a second, I doubt he even knows how. The only thing Toya is doing is realizing, ‘oh, I’m in love with him.’ And then saying, ‘Akito, I’m in love with you.’

"Jeez, you're such a hypocrite Luca."

"Yeah Y/N is right, you're so annoying, but whatever we can play." Feli sighed. "You will play too right Y/N?" Her voice softened slightly.

"I would never miss our game night!" You exclaimed happily, which was followed by Luca's loud "Hell yeah!" You chuckled to yourself, he was really like a dog, a cute one at that.

What. Cute? Luca??? Hell no, he's just your homie, both him and Feli, you're just great friends and nothing more. Right? Right???

"Jesus fuck, you three are so fucking hopeless, I'm leaving before this sappy collage bullshit will affect me." Ronin said, only now did the three of you realise that he still was on the call with you. Oops.

Their words made your heart ache. Huh? No, no. You are totally chill, they're right. You three are just buddies, zero romantic feelings whatsoever.

That game night was great, the three of you had a lot of laughs, made new inside jokes and just spent an amazing time together. You always had such a great time with them, it made your heart beat faster. Faster because of excitement of course! Why else ahaha. You were just so happy to have amazing friends like them.

The three of you always spent a lot of time together, talked on video chat, played together, sometimes one of you started a call just to fall asleep while the other two were talking. That's just what friends do, right?

So why did Misaki, Angel and the other called the three of you a throuple? Ronin left snarky remarks about your guys' talking stage, and V literally said that he doesn't wish to get in the middle of your love lives. What was wrong with them? Your friendship was obviously platonic...

Months had passed, it was February and you were having mixed feelings. You really loved being friends with Feli and Luca, but are they just friends for you? Your cheeks turned hot every time you heard Feli's cute laugh, or Luca's tries to rizz you two up in a bromance kind of way. You opened your small group chat with Feli and Luca and took a deep breath before typing.

You didn't have to wait long for an answer, the two dummies were already online and Luca started the call.

"Yo, what's up dude?" You could hear the sound of crashing waves from Luca's side. He was probably at the beach after training with his surfer buddies. Damn he must've looked so goddamn cute with his hair all wet and messy. Shut up stupid mind! it's serious, let's drool some other time.

"Yes, what is the matter Y/N?" Soon the voice that you knew so well joined in. Feli with her unironically cute French accent was just like music to your ears. Seriously, why is your heart beating so fucking loud?

"Uh... so, it will sound weird but..." You paused and took a deep breath. "I, I think that I may be in love with you two." There you go! You spilled your guts, now it's only time for the crashing landing and Luca's bullying for the next weeks, yay.

Well, now it's time for Feli, and she was really quiet.

"Feli? Are you... are you not feeling the same way?" You broke the silence, your heart breaking at the thought.

"No, it's not it." She paused. "I am not as amazing as the two of you, I'm not outgoing I can't... I can't do as much as you can do. You two would fit better together without me." She stopped talking.

"Dude what...?"

"Feli, for the love of God. We've been friends for like forever at this point! We talk, play and do stuff all the time! If we can do it as friends then why not as, well a throuple?" The word tasted strange, almost foreign on your tongue, but it was positive strange? You sighed. "Your disability isn't a problem for us Feli, we love you for you... But do you feel the same?

I'm v curious to see how the pjo show will portray Percabeth and Percy's feelings for her throughout the show.

cause imo, in the books Percy straight up doesn't even realize he has feelings for her until much muuuuuch later (whether it be oblivion or denial), but in like book 3 he's so worried for her he's starting fights with god's. she's literally all he thinks about in the Titans Curse, but never in a romantic way. Percy never thinks about her in a romantic way till probably book 4, when she kisses him, and even then it's a rare occurrence until book 5.

we just knew he had feelings cause he'd think stuff like "wow she's beautiful," or prints out a picture of her and keeps it with him, or constantly thinks about her when Rachel was around, or think Aphrodite looked like her. ACTIONS wise I know exactly why Annabeth was yelling at him by book 5. he never showed romantic feelings for her outwardly except for rare occasions that could be interupted as friends, even when she kissed him. not until, again, book 5 when he asks for a good luck kiss and literally screams at everyone not to touch her when she's injured.

anyway, so I'm interested to see how they're going to display it for the viewers on the screen when we won't have Percy's narration telling us obvious things that show us he loves her. I'm wondering if they're going to be more straight forward with it. in the books you knew Percy liked her but again only because of his thoughts, and not until book 3 tbh. but in the show s1 already had so much implied Percabeth. like Percy looked at her so many times like he wanted to marry her right then and there that is was shocking to me (not complaining) cause Percy really only acted like he saw her as a friend by that point in the books.

SO I wonder if they're going to continue this trend of just having Percy look at Annabeth longingly a lot and hope those who haven't read the books catch on, or will they go a step further and having him talk to people about his feelings? will Percy talk to Grover about her? in the books they would never, Percy didn't even know Grover had a girlfriend at one point. they weren't the type of bromance to talk about their feelings. however TV show Grover and Percy would easily talk about their feelings. they're more open and vulnerable around each other in the show.

and if they do that, then are they going to make it canon (canon to me is if Percy knew he had feelings for Annabeth before book 4 of 5 and said it himself. he never says he has feelings, and even talks about his feelings for other characters like Calypso and Rachel, so to me its not canon that he did know unless he said those words himself) that Percy is aware of his feelings before book 5?? or are they just gonna have scenes like in s1 with Luke where he calls them an old married couple and Percy and Annabeth ignore it. I could also see Grover just teasing him about her and Percy just acts like he never even thought about it

idk I'm really interested on how they're going to show us in TV form. half of me wants it to stay canon, but the other part of me wants to see a Percy verbally attest that he likes her but she'd never like him like that - or say something like Annabeth was too good for him (which I always got the feelings was half the reason why Percy didn't pursue anything till much later). even after Annabeth kisses him he's like "as friends???? hmmm???" and I truly do no think until she yells at him for being a coward that it occurs to Percy that "Oh, that WASN'T a good luck kiss then." like he WANTED to kiss her but he didn't think she liked him like that EVEN AFTER SHE KISSED HIM. sigh. sweet, dumn Percy. how I love thee.

but show Percy really isn't as a dumb as book Percy was in the first book, so there's a huge possibility they'll make it more obvious. I feel like for the sake of wanting fans invested in the ship, they'll make him more aware of his feelings imo. they already did so in s1, and book 1 truly was just Annabeth and Percy learning to be friends.

no matter what, I cannot wait for s3, because I would do anything to see Walker act out Percy worried about Annabeth. PERCY TRYING TO FIGHT MR. D CAUSE HES NOT WORRIED ENOUGH FOR ANNABETH???? I literally cannot wait.

Qiu Qingzhi and Li Bing back in the days : You look at me who loves looking at you.

ISTG the way Li Bing looked at Qiu Qingzhi who was looking at him was more like a shy junior who looked at his senior he had a crush on. A part of him secretly hoped that Qiu Qingzhi wouldn't know his feelings towards him, yet another part of him also hoped that his secret crush would share the same feelings as him and then would make the first move on him. He plastered a shy smile as if he tried to pretend that he didn't have any butterflies flying in his stomach.

The drama wasn't about bromance, but really they just skipped the B and jumped into romance. LOL. Qiu Qingzhi x Li Bing boldly crossed the line of mere brothership. There's no way in Hell you would treat your brother as an adult like that. Not a million times.

Note : They didn't cut the scene where Wang Qi jumped on Cui Bei's back, but they cut the cute scene where Qiu Qingzhi called Li Bing to come over and Li Bing ran to him happily. He jumped on Qiu Qingzhi's back. Qiu Qingzhi was more than happy to give him a piggyback ride for free. He carried him like the most precious thing he wished he could have.

Qiu Qingzhi and Li Bing now : I'm just a little too not over you. Just a little! You hear me? But how are you so fine without me? I've been crying for you since the day you went away! Am I that unimportant? Am I so insignificant to you? Fine! I'm going to show to the whole world that I'm also fine without you!

But of course, who could stop our Vice Minister Li from the Court of Judicial Review to act cute towards General Qiu from Jinwu Guard? Li Bing could do whatever he wished since it's Qiu Qingzhi. 撒娇 full mode was activated!

I'd never be a fan of hetero romance drama. I admit that I even always tried to avoid it like a plague because I had a great issue with the FL's half baked 撒娇 (acted like a spoiled child or coquettishly). It never failed to annoy me to the moon and back to the point that killed my mood and gave me a headache. It's the main reason why such a talented actor like Ding Yuxi managed to escape from my radar (my BL-dar, LOL).

White Cat Legend was his first drama that I watched. To be honest, at first, I didn't expect him to be that good, but just a pretty face to help selling the drama. I heard that antis said that his face was just too ordinary. Excuse you, but I had to disagree! I really had no idea which beauty standard that they used to judge Ding Yuxi's exquisite appearance. This guy surely had a pretty face and a pair of equally beautiful expressive doe eyes. His laughs were so addictive. He has fair skin and a pair of cute elf ears that made his face look smaller and innocent.

He's indeed one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen, but his acting skill was on par with his pretty face. He was so detailed in micro expression, voice, quirks, and body language. He used his real voice! I was so glad for that since I could tell his changing mood faster based on his voice. In White Cat Legend, I wonder if he merely relied on what's written on the script or more on his personal interpretation to portray Li Bing. Most of the time when Li Bing gazed at Qiu Qingzhi, it wasn't for a bestie, but a lover. It was understandable if it was a BL or B-romance drama, but it wasn't. I jumped on the QiuBing ship and then sailed, sailed, sailed, to the BL sea.

When they met again after the 3 years of separation & a bitter 'breakup', Li Bing looked at General Qiu with glassy eyes as he was so ready to burst into tears at any moment. His voice tinted with emotional; anger, sorrow, desperation, and unbearable longing. But sometimes his voice became more childish just like when he was younger. He did it only to Qiu Qingzhi, especially when he felt like testing Qiu Qingzhi's patience in every chance that he got. I wonder how Qiu Qingzhi could suppress the urge not to jump on that naughty cat and attack him. By 'attack', I meant wringing Li Bing's delicate neck, not that typical +18 'attack' deflowering him in bed.

Gotta admit that Ding Yuxi's 撒娇 skill is really a top-notch 撒娇! He's not exaggerating. It was just so natural. Damn, he's so cute! When I said cute, it was purely boyish cute. I wouldn't dare to describe him as unmanly. He's a versatile actor that could act as a male character with a feminine traits, just like his role as Dongfang Bubai back then. FYI, Dongfang Bubai was a male character who castrated himself in order to master a martial art in the Sunflower Manual. I didn't watch the drama, but I watched some short videos of his version of Dongfang Bubai. IMHO, he's the best Dongfang Bubai that I've ever seen. They mostly used an actress to play the role of Dongfang Bubai. Ding Yuxi managed to balance masculinity and femininity for Dongfang Bubai. Dear a bunch of half baked 撒娇 skilled actress, you guys better learn that skill from this xiao-Dingding, so your acting can be less annoying.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind if the MUA (makeup artist) dolled him up like Dongfang Bubai as Li Bing. Li Bing in his big white cat mode got red eyeshadow under his eyes! Why couldn't he get it in his human form? It would be so epic and undoubtedly look so good on him.

Was the GCI version of the big white cat actually modeled after Ding Yuxi? They really looked alike! Da lizi was just like a mirror image of Ding Yuxi. Look at their eyes and lips!

I wonder if he used a certain method as an actor; shaping himself into the character or blend the character into himself. Whichever he used, it was the best way to understand the character, but also a dangerous way since it's possible that he couldn't get rid off the character even after the drama was over. It was so tricky. However, as an adult, I believe that he was over the fragile stage to find his identity. He was already on the safe side.

As for Wei Zheming, his acting really surprised me. The first time I knew him, he acted as Jing Beiyuan or Qi-ye (Lord Seventh) in Word of Honor. In White Cat Legend, he really surpassed my expectations on him. He nailed the role as Qiu Qingzhi; the left General of Imperial Guard, the General from Jinwu Guard. Most of the time he kept his face stoic and expressionless, but if you paid more attention to it, he clearly had a lot of emotions, especially for Li Bing. I was so glad that they didn't dub his original voice. Unlike when Li Bing addressed Qiu Qingzhi by his title so coldly; damn that was so cold, when Qiu Qingzhi addressed Li Bing by his title, it was full of respect. But when he addressed Li Bing by his name, you could notice the fondness in his voice. You could also sense the air of arrogance and authority whenever he used '本将' (this General) to address himself. Somehow he managed to sound so arrogant even when he used '邱莫' (this humble-self Qiu). Dude, you're not humble at all! However on the contrary, you would notice his modesty when he used '我' (I, me). He's a real two-face guy. He was so different in his monstrous mode and his Saint mode.

After learning how selfless and sincere Qiu Qingzhi was, my first reaction was; I insulted him so much behind his back. I shouldn't have done that. Oh, same, Wang Qi, same!

It was so sad that they killed Qiu Qingzhi in the drama. But it couldn't be helped since that character was too good. Qiu Qingzhi >>>>>>>>>>> Chen Shi + Wang Qi + Cui Bei + Sun Bao + Alibaba. Once he was back to Li Bing's side, the Mingjing Hall people were basically useless compared to Qiu Qingzhi. Looking back at Qiu Qingzhi x Li Bing in their past, I thought that he was actually the '妖' (demon) in duo '妖饼' (demon Bing). Oh, come on. Li Bing was a frail Young Master back then due his incurable illness. Basically he was like a beauty lamp that even a faint cold air could extinguish it in seconds. Qiu Qingzhi, on the contrary, was a strong and reliable man with wisdom. We know how capable and effective Qiu Qingzhi was in a battle. Capturing a small fry like thieves or bandits was like just a piece of cake for him. He also could make sure that Li Bing was safe and unharmed when he played detective with him.

Maybe it's because he was a slave (servant), even if Li Bing would never treat him like one, no one really would bother to pay attention on him. He was like the shadow of Li Bing who was born with silver in his mouth and so much privilege as the Young Master of an aristocratic family.

Back to the topic. If Qiu Qingzhi was still alive or managed to escape from death, he would single handedly outshine Mingjing Hall people so easily to the point Li Bing no longer needed anyone, but him. I meant it. Wanna bet? Whenever Li Bing needs someone to pamper him, just go get Qiu Qingzhi. Sorry, Chen Shi. Whenever Li Bing needs someone who's highly intelligent and is a sly fox with so many tricks in his sleeves, just go get Qiu Qingzhi. Sorry, Wang Qi. Whenever Li Bing needs someone who's so dedicated to a case and can memorize the detail of each case by heart, just go get Qiu Qingzhi. Sorry, Cui Bei. Whenever Li Bing needs a protection, just go get Qiu Qingzhi. Heck, Qiu Qingzhi could catch and tame the original Demon Cat; Yi Zhihua by himself. He can be a real monster once he puts his heart in it. Sorry, Sun Bao. Whenever Li Bing needs a translator or someone who has a lot of connection in the city, just go get Qiu Qingzhi. He's the left General of the Imperial Guard, he will be a big help with his influence. Sorry, Alibaba.

In short : It absolutely will be the supremacy of the Qiu Qingzhi era!

After Qiu Qingzhi's tragic death, I felt like it's Li Bing who's drapped in moonlight, lonely, and sad since no one can replace Qiu Qingzhi. It's definitely a losing game to compete with a dead man. Therefore, it's only Li Bing who remains in the tragedy. Even though in the end, he has Mingjing Hall people who stay on his side, things will never be the same.

Now what? Even though the drama was over, I couldn't move on! Help! 😭😭😭

It's finally finished! My debut album! I'm so proud of this, she's my baby. Thank you for being patient over these last 6 years. We've had singles, we've had EPs and now an ALBUM.

To thank you, one more single off the album before she's all yours. The song the whole project is named after, 'I know it won't work' is yours!

Since leaving Lando's in the summer, y/n had worked non stop on the album. She was right in telling him it wouldn't work as they now were speaking less than they ever had. Hence the blatantly obvious title track written solely about him. She put her soul into this album, songs that were personal to her every experience.

Everyone would interpret them differently, one of the things she loved about her art. But he'd know and in the back of her mind she worried for his reaction. Would he be happy? Would he be hurt?

Beautiful song. Call me sometime.

That was it. A simple message as if he knew she was worrying. It was just enough to calm her. She left his in May it was now September. Things were fine for a month, until calls got few and far between how she'd expected. It was normal she knew they'd come back to each other but this one hurt more, maybe because she felt his promises were now empty.

July was worse as Lando was spotted with some model she'd not heard of. She wasn’t one to believe gossip pages, so when she saw she couldn't think quick enough before her hands had type a message to Pietra, her inside woman when it came to Lando gossip due to her boyfriend and his 'bromance' as they call it.

Pietra confirmed they were causally seeing each other. Empty promises. Y/n found herself infatuated with the mystery girl, leading to her writing one of her songs 'Lacy' off her new album.

The song she is performing tonight at the Brits. She's beyond nervous. Not speaking to Lando before hand like she usually would isn't helping. She's on in 30 minutes and her brain is racking up all the things that could go wrong. But he's not hers to call anymore.

Pietra was there but she was engrossed in her phone, not aware of y/n’s mental termoil.

Y/n’s phone rings... Lando. She doesn't want to give in but God does she need these nerves to go.

"Hi Lan, long time no speak." She sighs out of awkwardness.

"P told me you're a surprise guest at the Brits? Why didn't you tell me? I'm so proud of you y/n/n." He cheers. She can hear the smile in his voice talking like nothing had changed, like she hadn't just released a song about how much she dreaded the idea of them together.

"I wasn't meant to tell anybody, you know."

"I'm not anybody though, y/n/n." He sounds hurt now. That's not what she meant. She just wasn't sure he cared anymore. She'd been ignoring him after she found out about his mystery girl leading them to only drift further apart. "What are you singing tonight? The song about me or..." he teases.

She's glad he gets it, she's glad he's not angry.

"Um, well. No. Well it's not the latest song if that's what's your asking?" She stutters, it's not the one he's heard, but not far fri being about him.

"Another one about me? Oh I am flattered. Can this one be a little happier this time. I wasn't all bad in our friendship."

"Oh this one is sort of about you, but not really. And it's not happy I'm sorry, I wrote it when I was a little crazy but it's too good to not release." She's rambling, he knows she's nervous whether it be about the performance about the song abour talking to him, he can sense it.

"10 minutes!" Someone yells form outside her dressing room

"Lan I've got to go. Thank you for calling. We'll speak soon?" Another empty promise.

"Y/n/n, wait. You'll smash it you know. You're amazing at what you do, everyone will love it whatever it's about."

He always knew what she needed to hear, she hated that about him. She hated that they were still so in sync. But he's with someone else, it won't work.

As she steps on stage, smoke circles around her feet. The lights so bright she can barely see the crowd, it makes it easier.

"Lacy, oh Lacy..."

The cheers were deafening, she'd never felt more acknowledged, more proud. Tears in her eyes she hugs her guitarist so tight. She's proud of herself, her hard work paying off.

She doesn't stick around for press, the alcohol she downed after her performance would throw all PR training out the window. Pietra joins her to continue the party back at her London flat.

A couple of drinks more and P makes her way home to Max, leaving Pippa alone once more. A little too drunk to control her best interests, picking up her phone. Clicking Lando. It rings and rings until,

"Y/n, it's 2am where you are! What's wrong?"

"Lan! I did it! Did you see me? Of course you didn't, but I did it! I wish you were here." Why did she say that, but she didn't care right now she wanted him to be proud of her.

"Of course I saw y/n/n. Would never miss something like that. You're so talented, unbelievably talented."

"Lando who's on the phone"

Y/n heard it, the girl she's penned as Lacy. Embarrassment flushes her already red face from the alcohol.

"I didn't realise you had company, I'll leave you to it. Im sorry." A lump forming almost instantly in her throat. The alcohol heightening her emotions, although they were very real, just never this on the surface.

"Don't be sorry. I'll sit in the living room, we haven't spoke in so long please don't hang up. Please." She can't say no, she could never say no. He has a hold on her. They both know it, it infuriates her, causing her to blurt out emotions she saved only for writing sessions never to his face.

"You broke your promise." So quiet he almost missed it.

"What promise?"

Ouch.

"You promised to wait for me. You said it'd be different. We speak less than we ever have. I'm losing you and you're losing me. It's supposed to be us Lando. Now its you two."

"You never gave me a chance, y/n/n. You never gave me a chance in our friendship nor a relationship. You got fixated that it would be bad, you pushed me away not the other way around."

"I'm scared that's why! Not because I don't want you because I'm terrified it'll ruin what we have."

"Well we don't even have that anymore."

Double ouch.

"I'm going to go. I'm sorry I shouldn't have called."

"Y/n/n- wait- I-" He stutters, he doesn't know what he wants to say, he just doesn't want her to go. The girl in his bed is a pass time, he even thinks she's aware of it. She's enjoying her 5 minutes of fame, nice holidays and dinners knowing she's a place holder for the one he can't have.

"Bye Lan"

Tears finally leave her eyes, built up from 2 years of fighting for each other to end with nothing. Why was she so scared of the one thing she wanted? She hated herself right now. She couldn't stop crying from such a high to such a low. She reached to her phone which was still pinging with messages from Lando. Switching it off the tears fell and fell staining her blush coloured pillows.

This is all wrong and she's not sure it'll ever be right.

Pit Babe (Fri iQIYI) ep 12 of 14 - Oh has Jeff been kidnapped again? Here, let's throw fruit at Babe and think about it for a bit. Tra la la. Trash watch happening here.

Cooking Crush (Sun YT) ep 9 of 12 - They are such very good boyfriends. Also, this is a ton of kissing for OffGun. I’m at a loss as to how they are going to turn this into a decent 12 ep show. Unfortunately, I’ve foresee it going off the rails - pacing seems off. 

For Him (Thurs iQIYI) ep 10 of 12 - We have our little No Comebacks twist. The sides are growing on me, but now the mains are boring me. The sudden gun-toting new characters are just weird. It’s like they took the script and just threw it down a staircase, gathered it back up again, then filmed that. 

City of Stars (Fri iQIYI) ep 1 of 12 - Fueang is an actor in the midst of crisis and scandal. Normally I don’t like Thai BL when it’s tackles celebrity and this is... yep, the same. Our actor is pitted against an older worried nerdy app developer, Krom. And I feel that dynamic - hyung romance, jock/nerd? Very nice. But it’s also very Star Hunter. Never met a trope they didn’t wanna do a million times over - in the very first episode. Also I think I’m not a fan of the actor playing the lead. 

My Universe (Sun iQIYI) ep 24fin - The blond who comes to get his hair shaved looks just like Fluke T (SOTUS et al). And even more like him after the shaving (My Bromance et al). Is that him? MDL doesn't say.

Anygay... something something: Orphan. Cancer. Kisses. Dream. Death. 'Bout what I expected. 2/10 even with a decent kiss I don’t do dream sequences and I don’t like death in my BL 

All in all, I’m relieved that that’s over. The series is a slog. And in general I don’t recommend it. I plan to promptly forget its entire existence. 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Love For Love's Sake (Korea Weds iQIYI) eps 3-4 of 8 - There is so much to adore about this show. The two younger guys who are suddenly in competition for the one older one. You know hyung romances are my favs. A hyung love triangle? COME ON. Also, I got to say this one’s giving me second lead syndrome. I do love me a brat. Add in all this on honorific play and linguistic flirting (as their should be in age gap). This is just THE BEST show. 

Look I gotta say this: the "Who did this to you?" trope (AKA who hurt you?) is the single most popular romance trope right now, remarkable to see it turn up in a BL. And pleasing. Trust Korea to be ON TREND. It's their national agenda. *respect*

Perfect Propose (Japan Fri Gaga) eps 1-2 of 6 - From Fuji TV (who brought us the Pornographer series) adapted from Mayo Tsurakame’s manga, production team includes Tadaaki Horai (My Love Mix-Up!) and Takeshi Miyamoto (scriptwriter for Old Fashion Cupcake). Hiro’s so stressed at work he barely has time to eat so he passes out on the sidewalk. An unfamiliar face saves him and insists that they once promised to marry each other.

AntiReset (Taiwan Fri Viki/Gaga) eps 1-2 of 10 - I really enjoy the character of an OCD intellectual automaton professor, contrasted to a warm and sunshine actual robot. Out the gate, this is oozing Taiwanese domesticity, we can only hope they juice it with their usual standard of heat too. 

All puns aside: It’s charming and I’m charmed. Does Taiwan finally have another winner on its hands?

I do adore Taiwan's aesthetics: The house designs, the suit designs, the human designs. I wouldn't say no to the robot’s pants either. Very cool. Can I order them in black?

Although I Love You and You AKA Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 4 of 10 - The birthday confession was a bit much. But I love how mature the reactions were. It reminded me a little bit of I Cannot Reach You. Always a good thing.

Sahara-sensei to Toki-kun (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 8fin - In the end this is mostly a piece about courage, and the rewards and disappointments that being courageous entails. Sadly, I personally didn’t have the courage to enjoy it. Featuring a chaos nugget bad boy student who falls madly in love with his teacher, this should’ve been My Thing. But Japan failed me. It happens sometimes. The leads had no chemistry, and the age gap rather than being a narrative driver and source of conflict, was just ignored. 7/10

(im so deadass when i say i was writing something completely different while listening to I Feel It Coming by the weeknd and all of the neurons in my brain fired at once, i froze, and immediately opened tumblr to write this at 1:26 am and scheduled to post it on pride month) (gillion is taller btw)

Gillion Tidestrider and Chip James have an interesting relationship. One might even say that their friendship has been strained lately. Most of the crew can tell that something has happened in private-- that not even Jay was made aware of-- that has caused their once close 'bromance' to fade away, a shadow of what they once were surrounding them like a fog when they were near each other.

They're still able to cooperate with each other. Of course they are, they almost have to since they're co-captains, but it's very clear to the whole crew that they are not what they once were.

What the crew doesn't know is why they're like this. What happened to make them drift apart?

It was a particularly cold night on the sea. The crew was traveling to Horsea to visit Ichabod for some sort of urgent matter. Chip was out on the deck of the ship, overlooking the dark waves crashing against the side of The Albatross. He silently listened to the sound of the ocean and his own breathing as he took in the smell of the salty spray kissing his face.

Gillion quietly approached Chip from the captains' quarters on the other side of the ship. Chip heard the taller man approach him and turned with a smile. "Gill! Couldn't sleep?"

"It's hard for me to sleep knowing that you are up here instead of in your bed." Gillion stood beside Chip as Chip moved over slightly to avoid touching Gillion's shoulder.

Gillion looked over at Chip. "Why are you awake? We only have a few days of rest left before we get to Horsea."

"I was just thinking a lil' too hard, I guess. Came up here for some fresh air."

"Thinking about what?"

Chip looked over at Gillion. Gillion's sea green eyes glistened as the moon perfectly lit him up. The moisture on his skin made it look like his entire body was lit up with stars. To Chip, Gillion looked like he was made from pure stardust mixed with crushed moon rocks. He was nothing short of beautiful.

That made Chip uncomfortable.

Chip "Everyone I love leaves me" James was completely infatuated with Gillion Tidestrider.

"Uhm... Thinking about... Nothing- It's nothing." Chip stuttered and looked away. He could hear his own breathing quicken.

Gillion leaned it where his face was in front of Chip's, his lips a mere few inches from Chip's nose. "What's wrong, Chip?"

The two men stood under the cool moonlight. Their eye contact was so intense it was almost as if their souls were intertwining as they stood on the deck of their shared ship. Chip's chest puffed out as his breathing hitched. Gillion's eyes stared directly into Chip's and Chip couldn't help but stare back.

Finally, Chip backed away and turned around to avoid Gillion's gaze. Gillion had no clue that what he was doing was affecting Chip in any particular way either. Chip knew this, and that might've made it worse. "I'm fine, Gillion. Go away."

Chip's tone cut through Gillion like a knife. Gillion wasn't always the best at feelings, but he knew he definitely felt something for his co-captain. Watching Chip as he confidently blew through their adventures and made plans on a head all while struggling to deal with the most horrific situations Gillion has ever seen has made Gillion not only grow a respect for him, but also a feel of admiration and affection. Gillion wasn't always good with words either, but he knew that Chip did not mean what he was saying in the slightest. Something was bothering him, and Gillion was determined to find out why.

"Chip," Gillion walked closer to him and laid a hand on his shoulder. "You can talk-"

Chip shrugged his hand off and spun around with a singular tear glistening on his cheek and another welling up at the corner of his eye. Chip didn't like what he was feeling. He knew that if he had grown too attached to Gillion, Gillion would eventually die or leave or, even worse, betray him in some way. To prevent that, Chip now had to keep Gillion at an arm's length, literally.

"Don't fuckin' touch me, man. I'm serious. I'm fine. Just go to sleep."

Chip didn't stay to hear what Gillion had to say; he simply walked over to the head of the ship to be the furthest away from him as he possibly could. Meanwhile, Gillion stood there for a moment. His webbed feet were planted-- cemented-- on the wooden boards of the deck. He watched as Chip's silhouette shrunk as he increased the distance between them. Gillion had felt a lot of things in his life, and this feeling could only be related to when he had to turn his back on his sister and leave her in the Undersea. He felt that same anguish in his heart, just on a smaller scale, as he did then.

Somehow, he lifted his feet from the ground, and slowly trekked back to the captains' quarters. He crawled into his barrel and sat there in silence for the rest of the night, not managing to get any sleep.

The next morning is when their friendship started to go downhill. Gillion would try to reach out to Chip just to be met with harsh words and physical separation. Eventually, Gillion simply didn't know what to do, so he did what he knew best to do. He waited for the moment to confront him privately. He thought over what he would say and do when he finally got the proper chance. He figured that his best bet was to form another ice ring, but he knew Chip wouldn't be pleased about that. He decided on waiting for another late night where Chip was on the deck to confront him.

Their time at Horsea had come and gone before Gillion got his chance. The night after they left Horsea and the cities they visited there, Gillion peeked out from his barrel to find Chip gone. He exited the captains' quarters, trying his hardest not to wake Jay, and walked onto the deck of The Albatross. The ship was currently docked at Allport. The crew was told to keep a low profile until the morning when they would sail out of the Horsea section and into The Southern Sea. Gillion looked around to find Chip nowhere to be found. Concern fostered in Gillion's core. He looked around at any sign of where Chip could possibly be. Gillion liked to think that he knew Chip fairly well by now, to the point where sometimes Gillion acted like Chip, because Chip was Gillion's first oversea friend and the one he tends to model his oversea mannerisms on.

So, when he spotted a small orange light with smoke emitting from it being held by a masculine figure on top of a building nearby, Gillion knew exactly where to find Chip.

"Smoking again?" Gillion sat down next to Chip on the edge of the roof.

Chip didn't even jump at the sudden presence, he simply took another drag of his cigarette. "Yeah, well," He looked at the cigarette. He doesn't even like cigarettes. The smell simply reminds him of his youth with Reuben Price, when things might've been hectic and awful, but they were familiar and oddly easier. Chip scoffed before continuing his sentence. "They taste awful." He threw the cigarette to the ground.

"Why smoke them then?" Gillion asked with nothing but innocent interest in his tone. Chip simply looked down at the cigarette slowly burning up on the ground.

"The smell." He sighed. He realized he's never been all that open about the topic of cigarettes. He's only been caught smoking them in particular stressful times, and very rarely.

Gillion looked at Chip in shock. He personally thought the smell was disgusting, but he also didn't mind the smell of dead fish. "What do you mean?"

Chip shrugged. "The smell reminds me of my childhood... Back when things were simple, I guess."

"If I remember right, your childhood was not simple at all?" Gillion questioned. He was terribly confused.

"It... Well, it was, but it was before all of this. Yeah, it was after the hole in the sea and all my family died, but it was before I was officially alone. Like, really alone. Before, I met you and Jay. I guess what I mean is... it reminds me of the last time I was good with Price. He was like my brother, but..." Chip shrugged again. "I dunno. I'm kinda used to the whole 'leavin' me' thing by now. The smell reminds me of back when I really wasn't 'cause I had Price." He chuckled. "It's kinda stupid, I guess."

Gillion nodded and looked down at the ground. "I do not think it's stupid."

Chip looked over at Gillion as he continued speaking. "The smell reminds you of family. Even if that family has... 'left you.'" He put 'left you' in air quotes.

Gillion paused and looked at Chip. "Why have you been pushing me away, Chip?"

Chip felt like the air had been knocked out of him. He didn't know what to expect from this interaction at all, but he somehow didn't expect Gillion to ask him that so bluntly. Chip didn't know how to answer it, at all.

Trying to gather himself, he sputtered out a string of incomprehensible words before taking a deep breath and straightening his back. "I- I haven't." He avoided Gillion's gaze and looked back down at the ground.

"Do not lie to me." Gillion's voice rattled Chip's body. He wasn't even speaking loudly, Gillion was just extremely assertive and Chip was extremely fragile.

"Chip, do not lie to me." He repeated.

Chip remained silent and suddenly very interested in the frog he could see hopping across the damp rocks that make the pathway below them.

Without another word, Gillion's hand found itself cupping Chip's face. He turned Chip's head to face him and stared him in the eyes. Gillion's moist, cold touch accompanied with the sudden, slightly intimate, action sent a shock through Chip's body. Chip didn't dare to try and move away from Gillion's grasp. He knew that the man was determined to get an answer out of him tonight.

"I-" Chip attempted to come up with an excuse, but looked at Gillion's determined expression and fell short. "It's complicated, Gilli."

The petname made Gillion's chest warm. Typically, people call him Gillion or Gill. Only Chip has ever called him 'Gilli'. "Explain it to me. I want to know."

Gillion's hand let go of Chip's face and fell to lay on the roof. The way he stared at Chip with nothing but concern and love indicated that he would listen with no judgement in the slightest, which comforted Chip.

"Gill... I-" He took a deep breath. "I don't want you to leave me."

Gillion's head turned to the side like a curious puppy. Chip sighed before elaborating. "Everyone I've loved has left me. Arlin and the Black Rose pirates died or... disappeared somewhere, I don't know. Only ones I even know are okay so far are Drey and Finn and I wasn't as close with them as I was with Arlin. I took his last name after the whole hole in the sea shit, I mean-" He let out a pained chuckled before choking on his own laugh as tears welled in his eyes. "Technically, I left Price, but that was his own fault after the bullshit he made me do... Everyone I've really loved like family has left me other than you, Jay, and the crew."

"Why are you distancing from me only, then? Why not Jay or the others?"

"Do I really have to spell it out for you, Gill..." Chip wiped a tear from his face and looked at Gillion, who was staring back at him with a perplexed look. "You're more than family to me. You're... You're different."

"Different? Is it because I am a fish? Because that is DEEPLY offensive!"

Chip chuckled. "No! No, it's not that. I... Gillion, I think I'm falling in love with you..."

Chip shyly looked up and met Gillion's gaze. Gillion's jaw fell ajar. "But... Love has never been good for me. I know that if I embrace that feeling, you'll end up leaving me somehow. I don't think I could..." Chip choked up and let out a small sob before looking down. "I couldn't deal with that..."

Gillion had a million things running through his head, but he ignored all of them. He gently raised his hand to Chip's face for a second time before wiping a tear from his cheek, which only caused his face to become more damp than before. "I know you're scared of love. But you don't have to run from it. Chip, I think-"

"Gillion, don't... Please, please, don't." Chip pleaded. He knew what Gillion was going to say and he knew that if he did, there was no going back.

"Chip." Gillion fully turned to face him, his legs crossing as he sat on the roof. Chip stayed as he was with his legs dangling off of the edge of the roof. Gillion moved in closer to Chip as Chip froze. "Chip, I think I'm in love with you too."

The entire world around them seemed to have froze. The bustling noises from Allport fell on their deaf ears and the light breeze in the air from the sea seemed to dissipate. The only thing that either of them were processing was the other one right in front of them.

"Why did you have to say that..." Chip whispered before grabbing Gillion's face and quickly moving in to kiss him. Gillion's eyes widened before closing gently as he returned the kiss. Gillion's hand slowly moved from Chip's cheek to the back of his head as he tenderly pressed the back of his head to get Chip's face as close to his as possible.

Gillion then pulled away to see tears streaming down Chip's face. "Chip, no, no. Why?" He frantically was wiping tears from Chip's face to no avail.

"It's gonna happen now... I'm gonna lose you..."

"Oh, Chip..." Gillion pulled into a tight embrace as Chip gripped Gillion's shirt.

"Why would you do that! Why would you tell me that!!"

"I'm not going anywhere."

"You can't promise that!"

"I can, Chip."

Chip looked up at him and laughed. "Yeah, and I can fly."

Gillion's hands held the sides of Chip's face as he slowly leaned to touch his forehead to Chip's. It was such a different way to be intimate that Chip had never experienced before. "I promise you, Chip James, that I will not leave you. I will fight for my life for you. I will stay alive... for you."

Something in Chip's body compelled him to fully believe Gillion. With his determination and undoubted loyalty, Gillion's promise held so much more weight than anyone else. Chip briefly pulled away and held up his hand before extending his pinky. "Promise?"

Gillion looked down at Chip's pinky. He had only vaguely heard about a 'pinky promise' before and he definitely didn't think of Chip to be a believer in such childish things. But Gillion would indulge in anything for Chip. He would do anything for him.

He raised his hand and extended his pinky. Gillion locked his pinky with Chip's. "I swear on Lunadeyis."

Chip's eyes widened as he looked up at the moon. He almost felt like Gillion was about to be struck where he stood, but the moon seemed to shimmer brighter. Chip almost felt like the moon was smiling down on them, and he smiled back.

"I KNEW THAT'S WHAT WAS UP!" Jay exclaimed with a wide smile. "GRYFFON, YOU OWE ME 10 GOLD NOW!"

Chip and Gillion were standing beside each other, holding hands, after telling Jay what had been happening between them. Chip's jaw fell to the floor. "YOU PLACED BETS?"

Gryffon grumbled while handing Jay 10 gold coins. "It was her idea."

"AND I WAS RIGHT! Oh, I'm so placing more bets on you, Chip. You're so predictable!"

LOL thank you for taking interest in my gay luigi posts. I actually did make one of these before but that was two years ago and also mostly jokes so I think this is as good a time as any to do it again but in serious mode. I have also changed my mind on some of these so they might not all line up with the other post but such is life. Obligatory "That's My Opinion" so if my tabloid speculations don't line up with yours feel free to imagine me falling down a very deep hole, or you can squint your eyes and pretend you're squishing my icon between your fingers like a bug if that's more your speed

WARIO: Briefly said this in the mario post but sure I'll go into more detail about wario's sex life, I think he's aromantic and bisexual. I do realize it comes off as kind of shitty to make Mario be Romantic Asexual and "Evil Mario" be Aromantic Sexual, but as a Wario Megafan I just think that he values his friendships a lot more, and given what we have seen of wario's disgust for romance despite his very active libido* (I promise that link is not as bad as it looks), I think it would be remiss to pretend that he would ever want to settle down with someone. He still loves people in a platonic way - even beyond the warioware cast, he cared a lot about princess shokora by the end of WL4, and even though he does not necessarily LIKE waluigi (and I do subscribe to poppadopolos theory so I am of the belief that they were fuckin' and truckin' for a good portion of the early 2000's), I think wario still cares about him in his wario way. They are like a divorced couple that still has kids except instead of kids it's cheating at tennis. Also, I think that wario is transgender, because it explains a lot about him (e.g. his lack of nipples) and because that way nobody has to think about what his "real name" was before it was wario. It was his deadname! Everybody go home! Have a rotten day!

*I do not think that wario would canonically catcall random news reporters but I'm still counting this as nebulous evidence that wario can be horny

MONA: I think that she is bisexual but doesn't know it at this point in time and also isn't really stressing about it. Her taste is kind of skewed towards whatever wario is (in a puppy love type of way i do NOT ship them), but if she ended up having a close friendship with a girl her age I could see her catching feelings. I don't wanna say that her thing with wario is comphet because that's not entirely true but I do think that his unattainability is a comfortable way for her to not have to think about actually getting into a relationship. (For the record, I don't think she even wants to BE in a relationship with him, I think she is perfectly happy with the way things are, but mona has TMI'd about her opinion on wario's physique often enough that I kind of get the idea.)

JIMMY T: My opinions on him have not changed. Who do you think gave him the T? Also, I didn't mention this before, but I do think he is bisexual, and although it kind of feels like a cop-out to make the Holy Trinity of Warioware all bisexual, sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles. Groovy!

DRIBBLE: This is where things start to diverge from the original post. I said he was bisexual before But I lied I think he just likes men. I think that he has a supportive family, but he's still a little shy about actually going out to meet people and start a relationship. Anyways you're probably not gonna like what I have to say next

SPITZ: I am soooooo sorry. But I think that he is straight. More power to you guys but I never really got into dribblenspitz as a Ship because I associate their dynamic so strongly with the Cool Boss + Rookie dynamic that we have all been at least one half of that I can't imagine them in a romantic relationship. They have the most beautiful bromance of course, they would go to the ends of the earth for each other, but they wouldn't smooch. I think that spitz's dating life is/has been kind of sad (not in a angst way in a regular way) and were he to go back into the dating scene dribble would hype him up about it and give him advice and spitz would be like hey why don't you have a girlfriend? You're clearly better at this than me and dribble would say uuuhhhhh

ORBULON: Orbulon is hard to pigeonhole into these labels because the guys on orbulon's home planet operate on an entirely different paradigm from humans on earth. Reproduction via budding, communal childrearing, telepathic mega-cliques*.....on Earth, orbulon certainly has no interest in romance or beyond (both because he has no need for it and because he is two thousand years old on the planet of the apes), but he does have fun being a girl. You could call him "genderfluid", but he also doesn't feel too much of a connection to earth genders in general; he just likes wearing different hats.

CRYGOR: I think that he has had no interest in romance for a hundred years, but also if he randomly picked up a stepdad for his adult children one day I would not be mad. (Mike might be, but he would eventually come around due to the Power of Love and whatnot.) Penny is his "granddaughter" but I think that this is more a label for convenience's sake and because she IS his granddaughter at heart. "But why does she randomly show up into everyone's lives in smooth moves as a full grown kid" Until warioware decides to show me her parents themselves I'm not entertaining this plot hole

PENNY: The reason I don't think penny is his granddaughter is because I still think she is a transgender clone of dr crygor. I think that crygor is enthusiastically supportive of her, gets her all the pink glittery shit her heart could desire, and helped her transition with his Science Inventions. I also think she is a lesbian, although I don't Ship her with anyone in the main cast (sorry again).

MIKE: Earlier I said that mike was "gay but he thinks everyone is annoying". That was before they revealed this bombshell:

Now, this could mean absolutely nothing. Checking the translation of the japanese website yields pretty much the same sentence. However, due to an incident involving a botched translation before the english version of this website came out, I had it in my head for a while that the connotation here was of a certain kind of fascination. And honestly, who could blame him? This is a karaoke machine that got frosty the snowman'd into existence. Of course he would be conflicted about who he is supposed to love. Does he have the heart of a man, or machine? Even Mike does not have an answer. So, my revised LGBT+ headcanon for Mike Crygor is "gay, and whatever this is".

GMMTV lineup (part 2, mostly, with some unreleased part 1) in order of my preference: (these are only the QLs. Most of the het shows fall under my Indifferent category. If I feel like it, I'll watch them.)

The Heart Killers. Pretty sure this is #1 on most of y'alls lists and for good reason too. My reasons? Pretty simple. I love action, mafia and romcom and this is all in one. And also FirstKhao and JoongDunk so-

Peaceful Property (part 1). After TayNew outdid themselves in the beautiful soft little thing that was Cherry Magic Thailand (anyone wanna join my Cherry Magic Th propaganda?), I can't wait for this series. Also: if they give me besties, it'll be a hard pill to swallow but I'll be fine, but if they give me bromance, I'll commit homicide.

Wandee Goodday (part 1). Releasing tomorrow. I am interested to see how GMMTV will handle this trope.

My Love Mix Up! Thailand. I loved the original Kieta Hatsukoi, and I'm just a bit skeptical if they'll be able to recreate the magic of the original, but I have faith in GemFourth and after Cherry Magic I've decided to trust them.

Pluto the series. A GL? With NamtanFilm? I'm in.

Revamp. Previously: The Vampire Project. Love me some vampires <3. Also, BounPrem.

Sweeth Tooth, Good Dentist. The plot sounds super fluffy and cheesy, so of course I'm in. And no way I'm missing Mark Pakin first lead. (Also, as a dessert-loving person who had many teeth-related problems as a kid, the premise just sounds too relatable. Except the falling in love part with your dentist obviously.) But... JittiRain. I have complicated feelings for her works.

ThamePo/ My Heart Skips A Beat. It seems soft and sweet, though it does have the secret/forbidden relationship overtones.

Ossan's Love. I found the trailer hilarious, but trailers, especially pilot trailers lie. Also, I'm not hearing the greatest things about the original, but I haven't watched it so I will reserve judgement. If I like it I'll like it I guess.

Us the series. You might ask how a GL ended up so low in my list. Personally, it's a bit jarring to see BLs have this safe space/bubble for their gay bois, but GLs are proclaiming love between women as "taboo" off the bat. I also saw this in 23.5, and yeah okay I get it, wlw is seen in a much harsher eye sometimes, but in 23.5 all Ongsa did was go on repeating "But we're both girls..." without explaining the why and resolving it properly. For now, I will not think too much into it, and worry about it when the time comes.

Perfect 10 liners. What put me off in the trailer itself is the clear discrimination based on looks/physical appearances. It also seems like at this point they're just trying to give each pairing some screen time this year but have run out of plots, and are thus shoving pairings into series like it's the metro/tube/subway/whatever you call it in your country during rush hour. Will I like it? We'll see. But after We Are, I have some hope left.

We Are. It's absolutely great for my tastes and I get to detox once every week. Love it. Has absolutely no plot but has loads of fluff, and it's something I didn't know I needed in my life until I had it.

Only Boo. I kinda like it, but I have zero idea where they plan to go with the current storyline. Fluffy and cute, I'll keep watching, but it probably won't end up high on my favourites list.
